Lucci came to us in March 2025 from our friends at Legacy Poodles. We got him with the intent to train for service work. Named for the light he brought into our household, we knew that he was going to be something special.
We immediately began working on basic obedience, and at exactly 4 months old he passed the CGC and the AKC Star Puppy test.
Around that same time, he also went on his first big trip, to his first Novice Puppy show, and earned himself Reserve Best Puppy In Show.
Right at 6 months he attended a large show in Shipshewana, Indiana, earning a Total dog his first day, and another on the second day, then titling URO1 his 3rd day.
One month later, he titled URO2, and got third Total Dog. Then the next day he Championed against very beautiful competition.
Lucci has had embark genetic testing done and is so far clear on all disorders. His Pennhip results were .39 on the left, and .42 on the right. Xrays showed good coverage of the joint, OFA finals will be done at 24 months.
He also tested normal/clear for Eyes, and RCD4.
Additionally, he has had the UUC Davis Diversity test, showing him leaning on the Diverse side of average.
Lucci is a brown (potentially cafe au lait) phantom with a masking gene.
He is currently 27 inches at the withers, and 50lbs.
We are taking a break from showing until Spring 2026, allowing him to mature before going into the champion ring.
We have plans for more UKC and AKC Rally and Obedience, Dock Diving, Agility, Scentwork, and Barnhunt.
Lucci has had success in other areas as well, such as Trick Dog, Fetch, and is an In Training Service Dog.
He also recently earned his Versatility Excellence Certificate.
